The lakeside pavilion at dusk
Framing nature, skyline, and open sky.
Designed in collaboration with cellist Yo-Yo Ma and landscape designer Julie Moir Messervy, the Toronto Music Garden translates Bach’s First Suite for Unaccompanied Cello into a series of sweeping landscape curves, meadow grasses, and birch groves along the inner harbor.
A garden pavilion celebration here connects the intimacy of lush perennial plantings with dramatic views of the Toronto skyline across the water. As dusk settles, the interplay of garden greenery and illuminated city towers creates an extraordinary contrast.
For ceremonies in public horticultural spaces, secure city park permits well in advance and plan acoustic sound reinforcement that respects local bylaws while keeping vows crystal clear.
